Day 2
Opening Prayer from Psalm 119:18
Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
Song: Jesus, Lamb of God (You are My All in All)
by Dennis Jernigan & Natalie Grant
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all
Seeking You as a precious jewel
Lord, to give up I'd be a fool
You are my all in all
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Taking my sin, my cross, my shame
Rising again I bless Your nameYou are my all in all
When I fall down You pick me up
When I am dry You fill my cup
You are my all in all
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Psalm 103 (NIV)
Praise the Lord, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 He forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 He redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 He satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
Interact with the LORD and His Word:
I do praise you O my LORD who forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. Thank you for rescuing me when I was lost in sin and making me your own. I praise you for your unfailing love that has no limits and your unending compassion towards me. Remember that I am but dust and help me today with the struggles I will face. Help me today to remember and live out your precepts through your Holy Spirit working in and through me. You are on the throne and I join with all the heavenly hosts in praising your great name. Amen.
Main Bible Text: 2 Kings 22-23
(Read slowly from your own copy of the Word, intent not on how much you read but on hearing what the LORD wants to say to you through His Word. If you find that your mind is wandering, just reread the same section again and again until your mind is truly contemplating the truth of God's Word. When the LORD opens your eyes to some truth, write it down--perhaps even on a notecard that you can meditate on throughout the day. If you don't understand some part of the passage, ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. BibleGateway is also a great resource. Look under "STUDY THIS" and then "COMMENTARIES.")
